A lot of players enjoy the Vortex installer because the user interface makes it easy to use. However, it is not compatible for everyone. Before we show you how to install Blade and Sorcery mods, let's go into more detail about Vortex Installer.

What is Vortex Installer?

Vortex Installer is a mod manager software that easily lets you easily install modifications on a number of different games including:

Select Manual Download

Scroll down and choose theManual Installbutton to download Vortex to your computer.

Select Slow Download

Scroll down and chooseSlow Download.After it is done downloading, run the installer and follow the prompts to install Vortex on your computer.

Login With Your Account

Launch Vortex, which is now installed on your computer. Click theLoginbutton to sync Vortex with your Nexus account.

Find Blade and Sorcery

In the Games tab, scroll down until you see Blade and Sorcery.

Manage Blade and Sorcery

Hover over the Blade and Sorcery icon and then selectManage.

Find a Mod to Install

Select Vortex Download Method

When you've selected a mod, click on theVortexbutton.

Select Slow Download

In your browser, you should be prompted to open the mod directly in the Vortex mod manager. ClickOpen Vortexto install the mod into Vortex.

In Vortex under the Mods tab, you can click on any mod that isn't installed yet and selectEnable.

You can now go and use the mod inside the game! If you don't want to use the Vortex mod manager, follow the instructions below to manually install Blade and Sorcery mods and custom maps. If you have a Mac computer, you will also need to use the manual method below.

How to Install Blade and Sorcery Mods Using the Manual Method

In the step-by-step guide below, we'll show you how to install Blade and Sorcery files using the manual installation process.

Go to the Nexus website and find a Blade and Sorcery mod you want to install. You can also look through our Best Blade and Sorcery mods guide.
When you've selected a mod, click on theManualbutton.
Scroll down and clickSlow Download.
Find the zip file you just downloaded and open it. Inside, will be a folder that is the name of the mod.
Move the mod to your Blade and SorceryStreaming Assets Folder. Not sure where this folder is located? See below!

Where is the Streaming Assets Folder Located?

All guides on installing mods manually call for the Streaming Assets folder. You can find your Streaming Assets folder in a few different ways:

If you have installed Blade and Sorcery via Steam, go to Steam and right-click on the B&S icon in your list of games. Then, selectProperties.Go to theLocal Filessegment and then click onBrowse Local Files.Go to theBladeAndSorcery_Datafolder and then open theStreaming Assetsfolder.

On Windows, this folder is usually located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Blade & Sorcery\BladeAndSorcery_Data\StreamingAssets\

On Mac, this folder is usually located at: ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Blade & Sorcery/BladeAndSorcery_Data/StreamingAssets

Once you know the location of the folder, you can now manually install any mod you want for B&S. If your Blade and Sorcery mods are not working, make sure that you have located the StreamingAssets folder properly. If you are using the Vortex method, you can still make sure that Vortex has installed your mods into the right location.

How to Use Blade and Sorcery Mods in the Game

So now that you've loaded up a few mods, how do you actually use them? In any game map, check the room you spawn in. On a desk nearby will be a spawn book. If you walk up to it, you will see all of the mods you've installed. If you select one in the spawn book, it will tell you some details about the mod and allow you to spawn them in the game.

Once a new weapon or item is spawned, place it in your inventory and then you can use it later on in battle.
